The team behind the three blockbuster “Lord of the Rings” films is reuniting to produce two new films. Warner BThe movie released ahead of schedule is titled: “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.” CNN (USA) reported that the new film will focus on the monster Gollum.
Warner Bros. CEO Discovery – Mr. David Zaslav at a press conference on May 8 confirmed that the filmmakers of the original “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, director Peter Jackson and partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, are producing. new film and will be involved in every phase.
The project is currently in the early stages of script development by Walsh and Boyens, along with two other writers.
According to a press release from Warner Bros, actor Andy Serkis will direct the movie “Lord of the Rings: Hunting for Gollum”, and he will also voice the character Gollum.
Director Peter Jackson’s first “Lord of the Rings” trilogy starred Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin and Cate Blanchett. This trilogy of films has been nominated for 30 Oscars and brought home 17 gold statues, including the best film award for “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” in 2003.
In addition, all three films also received nominations at the Golden Globe and BAFTA awards. These films are based on the novel “Lord of the Rings” by author JRR Tolkien.ros. plans to release these films in 2026.
