Rachel Biggs, the CEO of Cardiff Foodbank in an interview with The Guardian published on June 25, revealed Taylor Swift has made the biggest individual donation the organization has ever seen. Biggs, in the interview, mentioned the pop star’s donation has created a “breathing space” for the organization.

“The breathing space Taylor’s donation has given us will enable us to lift our heads and shift our focus from the food bank to the creation of a sustainable operation supporting people who currently need our help with support to address the root cause of poverty and financial support to set them on the path to not needing our aid anymore.”

Taylor Swift’s charitable initiatives haven’t gone unnoticed. While her fans pour praise on social media channels, many charity organizations in the UK have acknowledged and thanked Swift for her generous support.

Rich Jones, the chief executive of St. Andrew’s Community Network in Liverpool in an interview with The Guardian published on June 25, said,

“It’s the most incredible gift. Because of rising prices, rising need and falling donations, we’ve been having to subsidise our food overselves for a long while.”

He also added,

“But it’s fair to say that Taylor Swift has essentially paid our food bill for 12 months and that gives us breathing space to focus on fundraising efforts going forward.”

Swift performed three nights at the Anfield Stadium of Liverpool in June.

While Rachel Biggs hasn’t revealed the exact amount donated by Taylor Swift, the CEO mentioned her donation provides the weight equivalent of feeding 1,200 people three meals a day, for three days or 10,800 meals.

As per Daily, Taylor Swift donated to the local food bank in Edinburgh during her tour in June. The Edinburgh Food Project took to Instagram to share the news and said,

“Thank you so much Taylor – you have changed Edinburgh for good.”

This isn’t the first time Taylor is in the news for her charitable donations. The Grammy winner had also contributed to other Eras tour locations, such as Arizona, Nevada, and Tampa. She donated around £86,000 to the LGBTQ+ advocacy group, Tennessee Equality Project in 2019 and helped families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
