The top spot on the Billboard Top 100 chart, which was previously dominated by “Look What You Made Me Do,” has been replaced by Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves),” a newcomer rap star in the American music market. Taylor Swift’s song, “Look What You Made Me Do,” known as the “queen of country music,” not only lost its top position after three weeks but was also pushed down to third place by another newcomer, Post Malone.
What’s interesting about this week’s Billboard chart is the appearance of two newcomers: Cardi B with “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” and Post Malone with “Rockstar.” Neither of these songs has the same level of investment as “Look What You Made Me Do,” nor do they convey any personal hidden messages. They are simply considered “hot” music products.
Cardi B, born in 1992, and Post Malone, born in 1995, both achieved their first hit songs in their music careers with “Bodak Yellow” and “Rockstar,” respectively.
This somewhat indicates a change in the current music taste of the public. Previously, a singer’s brand held about 50% of the success of a music product, but now, everything has changed. It’s seen as a fair and reasonable change, according to experts. Only quality music products deserve to be at the top of the chart, whether they come from a superstar or a newcomer in the showbiz world.
