Starz Sets Premiere Date for “Three Women” Series Based on Lisa Taddeo’s Bestseller

After being cancelled by Showtime in early 2023 due to a lineup shakeup ahead of its merger with Paramount+, the TV adaptation of Lisa Taddeo’s acclaimed book, “Three Women,” finally finds a home at Starz with a set premiere date.

Scheduled to debut on Friday, September 13, at midnight through the Starz app and at 10 p.m. ET/PT on the traditional channel, the series centers on the subversiveness of women’s desire. Alongside the announcement of the premiere date, Starz unveils fresh images from the upcoming 10-episode series, offering a glimpse into the characters and their world.

Shailene Woodley, known for her role in HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” steps into the shoes of Gia, a character inspired by Taddeo herself. Gia, grappling with the loss of her family, embarks on a journey where she persuades three diverse women to share their intimate narratives. This encounter not only shapes their lives but also alters Gia’s trajectory forever.

Joining Woodley are DeWanda Wise, Blair Underwood, Betty Gilpin, and Gabrielle Creevy, each portraying pivotal characters with intricate storylines. Wise embodies Sloane, a Northeastern entrepreneur navigating the complexities of an open marriage, while Gilpin delves into the role of Lina, a suburban homemaker embarking on a transformative affair. Creevy portrays Maggie, a student confronting a scandal involving her English teacher, portrayed by Jason Ralph.

Taddeo’s book, lauded for its exploration of desire and womanhood now heads to Starz to bring the narrative to life. Viewers can anticipate a deep dive into the raw and revelatory experiences of these three women.

Laura Eason takes the reins as the series’ showrunner, with Taddeo serving as creator and executive producer alongside Kathy Ciric and Emmy Rossum. As the premiere date draws near, fans eagerly await the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of “Three Women,” where ordinary lives intersect with extraordinary tales of passion, betrayal, and resilience.
