Caitlin Clark had her best and most complete game with the Indiana Fever against the Chicago Sky on Sunday. But as her head coach Christie Sides hinted, it’s just the beginning.

The Fever sharpshooter was sensational in the showdown, finishing with a near triple-double of 23 points, eight rebounds and nine assists. She was also a pest on defense with three blocked shots.

With Clark leading the way, the Fever took the 91-83 win to surpass the Sky in the standings.

In their postgame presser, Sides spoke about Clark’s performance and shared her belief that the former Iowa Hawkeyes star is finally getting more comfortable playing with her new teammates.

“Caitlin Clark is a phenomenal player, and the more she’s in the league … she’s getting more and more comfortable,” Sides explained, via The Athletic.

“She’s getting more and more comfortable with her teammates. She spent four years with her Iowa teammates, and they did great things. They had some great team chemistry, and I think she’s having those moments with her new teammates.”

Sure enough, it’s a proclamation that will make the Fever’s WNBA rivals worried. Indiana needed six games to get their first win of the season (against the Los Angeles Sparks). In the nine outings they had since then, they have won four.

While the Fever still have a lot of work to do, it’s clear that they have made major strides compared to when the season started. And as Christie Sides highlighted, it’s thanks in large part to Caitlin Clark adjusting to their system and building chemistry with her teammates.

As the Fever continue to play more games, they should only get better with Clark leading the way
