This offseason, the Chicago Bulls are focusing on a youth movement, which led to acquiring guard Josh Giddey via a trade with the Thunder. This shift towards younger talent has sparked trade speculation around their star player, Zach LaVine.

ESPN’s Bobby Marks previously mentioned that the Bulls have been actively trying to trade LaVine but have had difficulty finding any teams willing to take on his contract. Recently, NBA insider Joe Cowley suggested that the Los Angeles Clippers could be a potential landing spot for LaVine.

LaVine has been part of trade conversations since last offseason. The Bulls star only played 25 games last season due to a foot injury that required surgery. Since then, trade rumors surrounding him have intensified.

Despite his injury, LaVine had a solid season, averaging 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.

Bulls’ Executive Confirms LaVine’s Future with the Team

The Bulls’ Executive Vice President, Arturas Karnisovas, outlined the future of the Chicago team with the reporters. He affirmed that LaVine will be a central part of it as they look forward to the next season.
We expect Zach to be fully healthy. And he is healthy. I think he can help this group next year. He’s been professional,” Karnišovas stated. “Again, he’s healthy. We expect him to be with us at the start of training camp,” he said, per Yahoo Sports.

Apart from LaVine, DeMar DeRozan was also involved in trade rumors. Nevertheless, the Bulls did not have to struggle more to find suitors for him. After much speculation, DeRozan recently joined the Sacramento Kings.

Karnisovas also addressed the team’s approach to potential trades and market moves.

We prefer certain things to go first. I think sequentially, it’s very hard to predict what the market is going to be. That’s why I’m saying I don’t know what’s going to happen. After the season, I said everything was on the table. We’re not going to make deals that are not going to make us better,” he added.

LaVine has averaged 24.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game and has been selected for two All-Star teams throughout his career with Chicago.
