For the first time, two legendary families in música mexicana are joining forces. Last night (Aug. 5), Majo Aguilar and Álex Fernández announced their joint Dos Dinastías… Una Tradición Tour in the U.S.

Majo is the niece of Pepe Aguilar and the cousin of Ángela and Leonardo Aguilar. The Mexican-American singer’s father is Antonio Aguilar, Hijo, the son of Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre. Álex Fernández is the grandson of late ranchera music legend Vicente Fernández. The rising Mexican star’s father is Alejandro Fernández. These two música mexicana dynasties will collide for the first time with Aguilar and Fernández’s upcoming U.S. tour.

“It is the first time that two important families in Mexican music from two dynasties, such as the Aguilars and the Fernándezes, have come together to tour and bring together traditions, music, and the love for Mexican music,” Álex said in a virtual press conference yesterday. “We have been planning a very special show for everyone; very cool, integrating the two families. You’ll see. It will be a surprise.”

The Dos Dinastías… Una Tradición Tour will kick off on Oct. 25 at the Convention Center in Savannah, GA. The following day, Aguilar and Fernández will visit the Empire Center in Clarksville, TN. The duo will then perform at the Convention Center in Wilmington, NC. On Nov. 22, the tour will resume at the Majestic Ventura Theater in Ventura, CA. Throughout the rest of the month, Majo and Alex will make stops in the California cities of Fresno, Stockton, Bakersfield, and Salinas. The tour will wrap on Nov. 30 at the Fox Theater in Redwood City, CA.
Keep an eye on Aguilar and Fernández’s social media accounts to see when tickets will go on sale for the tour. On Aug. 8, the two artists will team up for the duet “Cuéntame.”
