Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark couldn’t help but feel anxious about the upcoming WNBA break. After all, with no pro basketball for nearly a month after the July 20th All-Star Game, the star rookie doesn’t know what to do.

Clark admitted as much during her pregame interview on Wednesday, telling reporters that it’s going to feel “really weird” to not touch a basketball for quite some time–hinting that the Fever will likely take some time off from practices during the lengthy pause.

“I told Christie, I was like, it’s probably going to feel really weird. Like I’m probably going to be like, anxious that I’m not touching a basketball–– but I need to not,” Clark said before their Dallas Wings showdown, per Matthew Byrne of ClutchPoints.

It’s hard to blame Caitlin Clark, though. After all, following July 20, the WNBA resumes action on August 15th to make way to the 2024 Olympics that lasts until August 11. The Fever next play on August 16th against the Phoenix Mercury.

That’s quite the wait before playing competitive basketball again. Not to mention that Clark and the Fever haven’t had much rest after starting the season with 11 games in a span of 20 days.

It should also be noted that Clark hasn’t stopped playing basketball. After leading the Iowa Hawkeyes to the NCAA Tournament women’s basketball final last April, she was drafted into the WNBA just weeks later.

With that said, going on a long break after a busy past few months will surely be, as Clark said, a “weird” experience
