NFL star Travis Kelce has big plans for his retirement.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, is currently preparing to push for the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat this upcoming NFL season.

But even if the Chiefs manage this potentially astonishing feat, it doesn’t appear that Travis has any intention to hang up his cleats for a while yet.

“I really can’t put a timeframe on [retirement],” he told reporters on Tuesday.

Travis went on to add that he plans to keep playing “until the wheels fall off,” adding, “Hopefully, that doesn’t happen anytime soon.”

But while his desire to continue playing is clearly still there, this hasn’t stopped Travis from considering some of his post-retirement options.

In the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, which Travis co-hosts with his brother and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason, the two discussed the potential of investing in a team.

Following reports that Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie is considering selling a minority state in the team, Jason proposed they invest.

“I would rather try and buy the Chiefs or be a minority stake owner in the Chiefs,” Travis replied.

“I don’t know that it matters how much a minority stake is, I don’t think we can afford it!” Jason responded.

Travis then brought up another potential issue for Jason were he to attempt to invest in Philly – his new deal with ESPN.

“And also you can’t call the game or do anything like that, because of the whole Tom Brady thing,” he said.

“He wanted to have a minority stake in the [Las Vegas] Raiders and it messed with his TV deal.”

Brady’s potential investment in the Raiders has been awaiting ownership approval since March 2023.

One of the latest issues to arise involved “concerns” raised by some owners who were worried about potential conflicts of interest regarding Brady and his upcoming broadcasting role with Fox Sports, as per the Washington Post.

This issue not only affects Brady and, theoretically, Jason but also Travis.

During the podcast segment, he went on to reveal that he intended to follow in Brady’s footsteps when he retired.

“I want to broadcast when I’m done playing,” he said, later adding, “I want to be the talking head that calls the games.”

‘It was a short retirement!’

Jason Kelce didn’t stay retired in the NFL for long.

The former Philadelphia Eagles lineman called it quits after the 2023 season.

But he will be part of ESPN’s coverage on Monday Night Football in 2024.

Kelce will appear on Monday Night Countdown from 6pm-8pm ET every week as well as during the halftime show.

“Turns out, it was a short retirement!” he joked.

“ESPN was a consistent presence in our household growing up and the network helped shape who I am and my love of all sports.

“To now appear on that same screen is a full circle moment.

“And, I mean it’s freaking Monday Night Football! and I’m ready for some football.”

While NFL ownership doesn’t appear to be in either Travis or Jason’s futures, the brothers have recently invested in another business together.

It was announced on Wednesday that they had “become the largest investors in fast-growing independent light beer,” Garage Beer, as per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“People crave quality and simplicity, and Garage Beer nails both for me,” Jason stated, via Cincinnati.com.

“We are light beer drinkers and Garage is the best light beer.”

Meanwhile, Travis said that the decision came “down to quality.”

“I think everyone knows I like to have a couple beers now and then, so being an owner of Garage Beer and heavily involved in making the best light beer is exciting, man!

“There is nothing better to bring people together than an ice-cold beer, and for Jason and me that is what beer is all about – friends, family and fun.”
