NFL icon Travis Kelce has made it known he wants to go into broadcasting once he retires from the league.

And Los Angeles Rams legend Eric Dickerson believes that Kelce would be a “great fit” for TV.

“Travis has a great personality,” Dickerson told TMZ.

“He’s a great player. He knows football extremely well.

“He’s won a couple Super Bowls. I don’t think you can lose with that.”

Dickerson was speaking from experience, having made a successful transition from the NFL to the TV booth himself.

The former Rams running back worked as a sideline reporter for Monday Night Football in 2000 and 2001.

During last week’s episode of New Heights, Kelce revealed he would turn down the opportunity to be an NFL owner in favor of a broadcasting career.

“Yes, because I want to broadcast when I’m done playing,” Travis said.

His brother Jason replied: “You want to broadcast. You’re saying that right now, you want to broadcast.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end then mimicked an old-timey radio announcer by saying: “‘I want to be right here and tell them about the game, the old ball coach, ladies and gentlemen!’

“I want to do that. I want to be the talking head who calls the games.”

Kelce has already shown his broadcasting prowess with the hugely popular New Heights podcast.

He was also the host of Saturday Night Live and has a forthcoming role fronting the game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? on Prime Video.

The NFL star is also moving into acting with an appearance on the FX horror series Grotesquerie.

And he will be looking to follow in the footsteps of his brother Jason, who has officially signed as an analyst for Monday Night Countdown.

Jason will make appearances on both the pregame and halftime show for Monday Night Football.

The former Philadelphia Eagles superstar is signed on with ESPN for at least the next four seasons, and the network confirmed he will be a part of its coverage of Super Bowl LXI in 2027.

Sources told The U.S. Sun that Jason will earn $1.8 million per year on his new deal, including a $1 million signing bonus.

Jason recently revealed he was nervous about his new high-profile role.

“I’m nervous. And I think that’s good,” he told the Whiskey Ginger podcast with comedian Andrew Santino.

“Every game I ever played in my life, that I played really well [in], I was nervous for, at least a healthy amount.

“Not like to the point where you think you can’t do it, but there’s a healthy amount of respect for your opponent… whenever I played a really good player I always felt like I played better, because all week I was really into preparing for this guy.”

He continued: “When you put more effort into it because of that nervousness, I think it usually results in a better product.

“Now, once you’re out there you can’t be nervous, you just gotta go, but I think it’s healthy to be nervous with where I’m at right now.”

Travis Kelce the actor

NFL star Travis Kelce has apparently landed his first major acting role.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end plans to become a “heavyweight” figure in music and entertainment.

Kelce has seen his star power rise after going public with his girlfriend Taylor Swift last summer.

The 34-year-old has now been cast in the new horror series Grotesquerie.

Directed by American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy, the drama is set to land on FX this fall.

Kelce will appear in the show alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville.

On Tuesday, Nash-Betts appeared to confirm Kelce’s involvement with a surprise Instagram reveal.

“This is what happens when WINNERS link up” she captioned a clip featuring Kelce in a backstage dressing room.
