KANSAS City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a special message for the fans after receiving his third championship ring.

The two-time NFL MVP, 28, sat next to Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, 34, during Thursday’s ring ceremony.

The Kansas City superstars didn’t get to slip the new bling on their fingers straightaway, though.

They had to wait until they learned the code for the lock of the red Chiefs-branded boxes placed at the table in front of them during the plush event at the Nelson-Atkins Museum.

Once a slot machine-themed video revealed the code to be 777, Chiefs stars rushed to retrieve the ring from the box.

“Who’s going to be first?” Mahomes’ wife Brittany could be heard screaming in the video she uploaded as an Instagram Story.

The Chiefs quarterback opened the box ahead of Kelce.

Once both put the new bling on their fingers, the Chiefs super duo posed for photos together, showing off all three rings they’ve won for Kansas City together.

Mahomes later shared a picture of himself holding the opened red box with all three rings on his right hand.

“We ain’t done,” he captioned the photo, shared as an Instagram Story.

The Super Bowl LVIII ring contains 529 diamonds and 38 rubies – and countless tributes to Kansas City’s path to victory as part of the design by Jostens.

“Back-to-back” is engraved on the side, representing the team’s 2022 and 2023 titles.

The top opens with the use of a hidden hinge.

The flap’s interior features the name of the game-winning play, Tom & Jerry, and the formation drawn out using with head coach Andy Reid’s handwriting.

Inside the ring, there’s a playing field covered by a thin piece of glass and with 17 mini Lombardi Trophy confetti floating over it.

“Earning back-to-back Super Bowl championships is an incredibly difficult and rare feat,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said Thursday.

“It helps define legacies for franchises, coaches, players, and is a testament to the commitment and dedication that is required from everyone in the organization.

Diamonds are forever

Kansas City’s newest Super Bowl rings feature 529 diamonds, 38 rubies and a nod to their game-winning play.

The Chiefs flashed their latest piece of jewelry at a special ceremony on Thursday, June 13.

The new bling features the years of Kansas City’s Super Bowl wins – 1969, 2019, 2022 and 2023.

It also has a handwritten drawing of Andy Reid’s ‘Tom and Jerry’ play which won Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kansas City beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime in February.

And the rings feature 22 diamonds to represent the points Kansas City scored in the second half and overtime.

Nineteen diamonds also represent their 11 straight winning seasons and eight AFC West titles in a row.

While there is also commemorative patch for the late Norma Hunt, the matriarch of the family which owns the Chiefs who died last summer.

“We have long trusted Jostens to help share the stories of our championship seasons through their beautiful ring designs, and this year is no different.

“This incredible piece of wearable art is a true symbol of the journey that the team took to secure the franchise’s fourth Lombardi Trophy.

“And we couldn’t be prouder to represent Chiefs Kingdom as champions once again.”

The Chiefs have a chance to make NFL history next season, becoming the first-ever team to complete a Super Bowl three-peat.

Kansas City will kick off the 2024 season on September 5, hosting the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC Championship rematch.
