KANSAS City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has been arrested for the second time since May, jail records show.

The 27-year-old NFL player was signed to the Chiefs’ practice squad in January and to a reserve/future contract after Super Bowl 58.

Buggs has been charged with second-degree domestic violence and burglary.

The court records reveal that Buggs was released on a $5,000 bond.

Last month, Buggs was charged with two misdemeanors in an animal cruelty case.

One of the charges concerned Buggs’ alleged mistreatment toward two dogs as one of them was allegedly “on the screened-in back porch surrounded in feces with no access to food or water.”

The other dog was allegedly “locked in a metal cage in direct sunlight with no access to food or water,” per Tuscaloosa Patch.

One of the canines was reportedly later euthanized.

Buggs turned himself into the police regarding the allegations.

However, Buggs’ lawyer said the charges were part of a larger “subversive campaign” to force the closure of a hookah lounge that the NFL veteran owns in Tuscaloosa.

Buggs has been charged numerous times in the Alabama city this year.

He was arrested twice for misdemeanors at his Kings Hookah Lounge.

One of the arrests included an incident after the 2024 Alabama A-Day game in which Buggs allegedly shoved Tuscaloosa Police Chief Brent Blankley.

Buggs began his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019.

He joined the Detroit Lions in 2022 and played there for two seasons.

The Lions released Buggs on January 2 and he joined the Chiefs two days later.

On February 17, he re-signed with Kansas City after being on the practice squad for the team’s Super Bowl appearance which saw them beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime.

The five-year veteran Buggs has 89 tackles and two sacks in 56 career regular-season appearances.

The Chiefs have had numerous off-the-field legal issues this offseason.

Kansas City star wideout Rashee Rice has eight pending felony charges against him due to a March street-racing incident in Dallas.

It’s been rumored that the 2023 second-round pick could face a multiple-game suspension in the upcoming season.

The Chiefs will begin training camp next month as they look to win their third straight championship.
