Travis Kelce’s legendary tale to get Taylor Swift’s number is being attempted to be emulated by fans, and country singer Dustin Lynch thinks the Chiefs tight end is responsible. Fans have started to approach Lynch with friendship bands, just the way Kelce did with Swift.

During an interview with US Weekly this week in Nashville, the country singer stated that his fans are following the famous friendship band technique to shoot their shots. Getting into the details about the same, he said:

“I think Travis Kelce has created a monster. I’ve been getting a lot of phone numbers on the wrist at shows recently.”

Even though fans have been reaching out to Lynch with their number hidden inside the friendship bands, he hasn’t made moves with anyone yet. If anything, he gave some of the numbers he received to his friends.

“I passed one off to a friend or two. I got a buddy at a show. Like, dude, give it a shot. See who she is.”

There have been rumors about Dustin Lynch that the country singer is afraid to date. However, in the same interview, he cleared up the rumors and said he is still interested in dating. If anything, he is “on the hunt” to find love and would love to go on dates.

What is Travis Kelce’s famous friendship band technique that Dustin Lynch’s fans are following?

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s romance started with the Chiefs tight end’s failed attempt to give the ‘All Too Well’ singer a friendship bracelet. Taylor Swift came to perform at Arrowhead stadium last year, an event Kelce attended and made a special friendship band for her with his number hidden in it.

Even though Kelce enjoyed the concert, he didn’t get the chance to give that friendship bracelet to Swift. Later, the Chiefs TE recalled the failed attempt in his New Heights podcast.

“Well, I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings. So, I was a little butthurt. I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

The failed attempt reached Taylor Swift, and she found it cute and decided to give Kelce a chance. In fact, a couple of months into their romance, Swift told TIME that it all “started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast.” Rest is history.
