Former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar and Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has added another award to her prestigious basketball career.

On Monday, Clark was revealed as the winner of the CWSA Honda Cup 2024 Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year award. This award goes to the student-athlete who has had the most success in competition and in the classroom.

During Clark’s 2023–24 campaign with Iowa, she broke the NCAA record for most career points regardless of gender and led the Hawkeyes to a second straight NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship, falling just short of winning the title. Clark was also named the National Player of the Year for the second time.

During her Honda Cup speech, Clark revealed a major factor to her success at Iowa, citing the bond she and her teammates had.

“We weren’t always the most talented group, like, we had great players, but it was because of that bond we shared with one another. Obviously, Coach Bluder in my eyes, she’s the best leader I’ve ever been around in my life. She knows how to build a team, she knows how to get individuals to work together, and those girls were my best friends,” Clark said.

Lisa Bluder coached the Iowa Hawkeyes for the entirety of Clark’s college career. She recently retired and gave the reigns to former assistant coach Jan Jensen.
