A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces picked up their third-straight win after a 95-83 victory over Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on Thursday evening.

The Sky had a one-point lead with six minutes and 42 seconds left in the third quarter, but the Aces retook the lead and pulled away from there.

Wilson and Reese were matched up together for a good majority of the game. Both players played well, but Wilson’s presence ended up being too much for Reese. Wilson scored 31 points on 52.6% shooting. She also recorded six rebounds and two blocks. Reese was able to get another double-double, but it wasn’t enough.

After the game, Wilson, a former South Carolina Gamecocks standout, gave her honest review of Reese during the Aces’ postgame press conference.

“We let her get away in some cases, so we can’t really have that. She’s too good in that area for us to let her get out. I think, in the grand scheme of things, it was a great competitive game… We got some [things] that we can learn when it comes to guarding her and defeating her, but obviously, she held her own,” Wilson commented.

Reese, a former LSU Tiger, is off to a tremendous start to her WNBA career. She ranks third on the Sky in scoring, averaging over 13 points per game. Reese is also second in the league in rebounding, just behind Wilson; both are averaging over 11 rebounds per game. Wilson also leads the league in scoring.
