Will and Jada’s tumultuous marriage is a soap opera like no other

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s married life was always thought to be perfect. The way they support each other in every endeavor, and speak so highly of their other half, never did it occur to anyone that there was anything wrong in their relationship.

All that, unfortunately, came to a standstill back in 2020, when Jada Pinkett, in her Red Table Talk, revealed her relationship with singer August Alsina. But that was just the tip of the iceberg. Last year, Pinkett released her memoir, Worthy, where she dropped even more bombshells, while simultaneously dishing out interviews, and airing her laundry out to the world. And her poor husband could do nothing but sit back and take it all in stride.

Will Smith’s Marriage to Jada Pinkett Hit a Roadblock

Last year, in her memoir Worthy, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that while they are still married, she and Will Smith have been living separate lives for almost seven, now eight years. The revelation came as a shock to many, who thought they had the perfect marriage. Smith said they had been secretly separated for seven years, and this was something she wanted to let the world know back in 2020, when her husband appeared in her show, Red Table Talk.

They discussed her “entanglement” with singer August Alsina, making many shocking revelations. But since Jada knew Will wasn’t ready for it, she decided not to reveal anything about their separation. The Emancipation actor, on the other hand, thought they could work out the issues in their marriage, and get back to being the loving and happy couple they previously were. An insider exclusively told Life & Style:

A part of Will wanted to believe they could work it out. Jada wrote in her tell-all that they were ‘basically broken up,’ but Will didn’t see it that way. No, they were giving each other space and figuring things out.

Unfortunately, their differences are yet to be resolved. Even if Will Smith has been manifesting for their relationship to get fixed, things haven’t been the same. While he could have easily taken a step back from it all, and decided to end things, neither Will nor Jada are ready for a divorce.

Will Smith Had No Other Option

When Jada Pinkett decided to release her memoir Worthy, her husband knew that all the secrets about their relationship would be out for the world to know. Unfortunately, he could do nothing but let it all happen, just the way his wife preferred it to be.

It’s been so difficult for Will to stand by and hear all the things Jada’s been saying about him and their relationship. He’s a private person.

Airing out their personal laundry, Jada Pinkett revealed their separation and a marriage that is only alive in papers. While they do have love and respect for each other, their relationship has not been able to stand the test of time. But they also said that they were trying to mend what was broken, and fix their marriage.

Will loves Jada very much. Neither one of them wants a divorce. Right now, they’re both just trying to make sense of the mess that their marriage has become.
