Clark’s agents prevented her from joining Big3

Rapper and Big3 founder Ice Cube, and Indiana Fever star rookie...

Ice Cube, the founder of Big3, has been vocal about his belief that Caitlin Clark‘s agents were responsible for preventing the Indiana Fever rookie from accepting his offer to play in the popular 3-on-3 league. When Clark made the decision to transition from college to the professional basketball scene, Ice Cube extended a generous $5 million-per-year offer to entice the talented sharpshooter to join his league.

The deal was reportedly for two years, with a total potential earning of $10 million for Clark. However, despite their efforts, Ice Cube’s team was unable to make significant progress in securing Clark for the Big3.

Ice Cube has consistently pointed the finger at Clark’s agents, suggesting that they were the ones obstructing the potential deal. He expressed his frustration, stating that it seemed like the agents were “hating a bit” and were not willing to engage in discussions. During an appearance on The OG’s Podcast with Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller, Ice Cube reiterated his belief:

“We believe her agents blocked it a little bit, we never got a chance to actually have a conversation with her and her family. The agents really didn’t want to see that happen in our opinion. They make there money off of NBA players, not WNBA players,” Cube claimed.

Ice Cube highlighted the missed opportunity for Caitlin Clark, emphasizing the potential for significant earnings and the chance to pioneer a groundbreaking move. He explained, “We offered her $5 million to play for two years, so she would’ve walked away with $10 (million), a little equity here and there but we knew it was a big step.”

Ice Cube also emphasized the potential impact of Clark playing at the professional level with male athletes, stating that it could have challenged perceptions and opened minds, regardless of the outcome.

Ice Cube’s disappointment was evident as he reflected on the situation, expressing his belief in Clark’s abilities and the potential for her to succeed in a league predominantly featuring male players. Despite the setback, Ice Cube remained firm in his stance that Clark’s agents played a pivotal role in derailing the opportunity for her to join Big3.
