Stephen A. Smith beefs with Peter Rosenberg over Caitlin Clark takeStephen A. Smith beefs with Peter Rosenberg over Caitlin Clark take

Longtime ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith went off on Peter Rosenberg for disagreeing with his take on WNBA’s Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever rookie has been a hot topic lately since being left off the USA Basketball roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Smith said that everyone on the final roster deserved their sport but expressed that Clark should’ve been included in the mix to boost exposure for women’s basketball. However, Rosenberg criticized the analyst for his take, eliciting a response from Smith:

“You know my number, what kind of bulls**t is that? You trying to gain favor with a different community? When did I set up there to try and prop Caitlin Clark up as some victim?”

Rosenberg has yet to respond to Smith.

What did Rosenberg say about Stephen A. Smith’s comments on Clark?

Rosenberg wasn’t a big fan of what Stephen A. Smith said about Clark’s Olympic snub. He talked about how Smith was discrediting the other players as he’s fixated on the Fever rookie.

“That’s why Stephen A. is catching the button because he’s jumping in on this train of the ‘Caitlin Clark’s not being treated fairly by the world,'” Rosenberg said. “Which is not only unfair to Caitlin Clark.

“You’re also being unfair to all the other women in this league who don’t deserve to be treated like props because it’s a real, competitive league with people who care deeply about this. And this whole idea that if Caitlin Clark isn’t propped up the right way, then it’s not right for the sport. If that’s your take, maybe you don’t really care about the sport and shouldn’t be giving an opinion about it.”

Earlier this year, Caitlin Clark was invited to the final training camp to make the roster but due to the schedule of the NCAA’s Final Four in April, she didn’t make it.
