Meghan Markle appeared to suffer an “awkward” encounter with the Princess of Wales over the seating plan for the late Queen’s funeral seating plan.

In support of their husbands and fellow members of the royal family, both Meghan and Kate attended the late Queen’s state funeral in September 2022 in London.

But as the royals made their way to their designated seats, there appeared to be confusion over who was sitting where.

Prince William took on the role of guiding his family to where they were supposed to sit, but Kate, who appeared to have misheard her husband, sat down too early and blocked the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from getting to their seats.

Kate was told to pause by William but, unaware of what he was saying, she carried on down the aisle of seats.

William then pointed out to his wife that she needed to make way for Harry and Meghan, who needed to pass them first.

With the couples seated, Princess Charlotte was placed next to her uncle – with the two sharing a sweet moment.

After Charlotte fixed her hat, she looked up towards Harry, who sweetly smiled at his niece.

Almost one year on from the awkward moment, tensions between Meghan and Kate reportedly run deep.

It has been reported that Meghan and Harry may never move to the UK again over their refusal to curtsy to Kate, when the now-Princess of Wales becomes Queen.

It has also been reported that the tensions were also the reason Meghan didn’t visit Balmoral following news of the late Queen’s declining ill health.

According to one insider, Meghan feels that Kate has “never been held accountable” for the way she treated her during her time in the Royal Family.

They stated that Meghan feels that Kate has “seemingly got away with it”.

Friday, September 8 marks the first anniversary of the late Queen’s death.

The royals are all reportedly planning on paying tribute to the late monarch in their own ways, with the King making the decision to spend the day “privately”.

Kate and William are set to lead tributes, with the final plans on how they will do this still undecided.

Harry will be in the UK later this week, with an appearance at the WellChild Awards expected on Thursday, September 7.
