It is shocking to see Angel Reese speak about her pay in comparison to that of the WNBA players, but her latest comments weren’t exactly wrong.

Reese opened up about her future of joining the WNBA, but she made it clear that she was not in a rush because she was already making more money than the players in the league.

“I’m chilling right now. I am in no rush to go to the league. The money I’m making is more than some of the people that are in the league that might be top players,” Reese continued.

The NCAA champion currently has the most NIL deals in the history of NIL. She has signed NIL deals with 17 brands of which some are Raising Cane’s, McDonald’s, Amazon, Bose, Xfinity, Outback Steakhouse, Wingstop, and more. On3.com has her ranked 3rd in college women’s basketball NIL ranking. Only Haley Cavinder and Hanna Cavinder are ahead of Reese with values of $930,000, and $924,000, respectively.

Recently, her NIL value jumped from $485,000 to $876,000 after winning the NCAA title.

Jackie Young, who plays for the Las Vegas Aces, and recently won the WNBA title is set to make $252,000 this season. She is currently the highest-paid player in the league.

Here are the top 10:

Jackie Young, Las Vegas Aces: $252,450

Arike Ogunbowale, Dallas Wings: $241, 984

    Jewell Loyd, Seattle Storm: $231,515

T-4. DeWanna Bonner, Connecticut Sun: $224,870

T-4. Skylar Diggins-Smith, Phoenix Mercury: $224,870

T-4. Elena Delle Donne, Washington Mystics: $224,870

Natasha Howard, New York Liberty: $224,675

      Alyssa Thomas, Connecticut Sun: $209,000

      Jonquel Jones, Connecticut Sun: $208,075

    Kelsey Mitchell, Indiana Fever: $206,000

In 2022, the average WNBA salary was $102,751 among 151 athletes.

Reese is 2 years shy of becoming eligible for the WNBA Draft. NIL deals are showing the effects of making young players stay in college for longer than they initially would’ve planned.

The low pay in the WNBA is the reason why so many ladies take their talents overseas in the offseason to make much more.

Before she got arrested and sentenced, Brittney Griner, who had played in Russia for the past seven seasons, earned over $1 million per season while playing for UMKC Ekaterinburg. We suspect she won’t be going back.
