Minnesota Lynx vs Atlanta Dream: Game details, preview, starting lineups, prediction and moreMinnesota Lynx vs Atlanta Dream: Game details, preview, starting lineups, prediction and more

After drubbing the favored New York Liberty 84-67 on Saturday, the Minnesota Lynx have roughly less than 24 hours before they face the Atlanta Dream. The Lynx, which leaned heavily on Napheesa Collier to defend their home court, will be counting on the versatile forward again on the road. Cheryl Reeve will also be hoping Alanna Smith, Kayla McBride and Bridget Carleton will answer the bell despite their unfavorable WNBA schedule.

Like the Lynx, the Dream is also coming off a big win in its previous game. Atlanta had to pull itself together before eking out an 83-78 win over the Dallas Wings on Tuesday. The hosts are well-rested and will surely try to take advantage of their weary opponents.

Minnesota Lynx vs Atlanta Dream: Game Preview

Napheesa Collier is looking like she is ready to contend for a major award this season in the WNBA with the way she has been playing. She is averaging 26.7 points per contest, which is 5.2 better than last year’s career high.

Collier just went toe-to-toe with reigning MVP Breanna Stewart and arguably won the battle. The Minnesota Lynx will rely on her to keep the team’s momentum going.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Dream has been relying on a well-balanced roster that has shown that it can get contributions from nearly everyone. Against the Wings, five players were in double figures led by Allisha Gray’s 21. The Dream will try to fend off the invaders using the same strategy on Sunday.

Minnesota Lynx vs Atlanta Dream: Starting lineups, subs and rotations

F – Bridget Carleton, F – Alanna Smith, F – Napheesa Collier, G – Kayla McBride and G – Courtney Williams will open the game for the Minnesota Lynx.

Natisha Hiedeman or Dorka Juhasz could be the first to relieve one of the starters. Either one of them will be asked to help distribute the ball and space the floor for Collier to operate in the low block.

F – Cheyenne Parker-Tyus, C – Tina Charles, G – Allisha Gray, G – Rhyne Howard and G – Haley Jones will line up to start the game for the Atlanta Dream.

Coach Tanisha Wright has been very flexible with her substitutions and might have Crystal Dangerfield come in first among the reserves. Aerial Powers, who had a solid game versus the Wings, could also get that spot.

Minnesota Lynx vs Atlanta Dream: Prediction

The Minnesota Lynx defense has been impressive early in the season and it’s an asset that travels well on the road. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Dream offense has been humming, which will make it an interesting offense vs defense showdown.

Minnesota, though, is playing the second set of a back-to-back and might run out of gas late in the game. The Lynx could lose but their defense could allow them to cover the +4.0 spread.
