When news broke that Prince Harry would be heading home to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games this year — and, in turn, possibly Meghan Markle, too — royal fans wondered whether or not the occasion would also mark a reunion for the Sussexes and Kate Middleton and Prince William. On top of the opportunity for the Fab Four to squash whatever tension may or may not be simmering under those signature royal smiles, royal watchers are also hoping that the event could set the stage for a play date with the Cambridge children and Archie and Lilibet, too.

According to royal expert Tom Quinn, Kate and William have “suggested” that Meghan and Harry bring the children this summer. The Invictus Games anniversary event is set for May 8.

“William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far,” Quinn told The Mirror. Since the publication of Harry’s memoir, Spare, news of the brothers’ not-so-cordial relationship has made headlines.

However, both People and Entertainment Tonight reported that Harry and Meghan reached out to Kate after her cancer diagnosis, which is an indication that the siblings haven’t gone completely no-contact with each other.

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” a statement from the Sussexes read.

Buckingham Palace hasn’t released an official schedule or guest list for the Invictus Games anniversary just yet, though it’s set to take place at St. Paul’s Cathedral, according to Tatler.

Meghan is currently “listed as a guest” for the event, according to Express. Sources shared that “Both Harry and Meghan are listed as guests and a speech has been scheduled, but there is still a question mark over whether Meghan will make an appearance. Her name has been penciled in as a TBC (to be confirmed).”
