NBA Draft hopeful Bronny James was asked to decide between WNBA stars Caitlin Clark, A’ja Wilson, and Sue Bird in a recent social media video.

In a game of ‘start, bench, cut’, a basketball riff on a classic teenage game, James was asked to pick between three trios of hardwood stars, one of them being some of the faces of the WNBA.

James decided to ‘start’ bird, ‘bench’ Wilson, and ‘cut’ Clark. No other draft hopefuls asked in the video also decided to ‘start’ the now-retired Bird.

Clark has been at the forefront of the rise in popularity of women’s basketball from her time at Iowa, to being the No 1 overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft to the Indiana Fever.

LeBron James‘ son was not chosen in the first round of the WNBA Draft with Bronny’s dad’s team selecting former Tennessee star Dalton Knecht at No 17 overall.

Bronny James was always seen as a likely second-round pick based on his college accomplishments at USC. The second round of the NBA Draft takes place Thursday night.

Some teams have been linked with drafting Bronny in the second round as a longshot to lure the elder James for the final contract of his career.

LeBron has long stated his desire to play with his son in the NBA.

With LeBron turning 40 in December, the window to make that dream a reality is small.

Los Angeles has one second-round pick, at No 55. Waiting to take Bronny could be an issue, with a trade up the draft boards to link up the James duo a possibility.

Wilson is the two-time defending WNBA MVP and led her Las Vegas Aces squad to a league championship the last two seasons.

The Indiana Fever are currently ninth in the WNBA standings, one position out of a playoff spot.

James also choose to start Anthony Edwards over Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum, as well as his dad, over Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.
