WWE Hall Of Famer Makes Bold Declaration About Taylor Swift

WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett shared an unconventional and eyebrow-raising idea for AEW.

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion suggested that it would be beneficial for AEW to have global pop icon Taylor Swift win the Women’s World Championship.

Reflecting on his experience in WCW, during an episode of his podcast “My World.” where the decision was made to put the WCW World Heavyweight Championship on actor David Arquette, Jarrett expressed his belief that putting the women’s title on Taylor Swift could significantly boost buy rates and ratings for AEW.

“I think if you could put the women’s title on Taylor Swift, I have a strong, strong feeling the buy rate would go up and the ratings would go up.”

While he acknowledged that his suggestion was mostly in jest, he pointed out the positive impact of celebrity endorsements, citing the recent roast of Tom Brady as an example.

Jarrett also mentioned Swift’s boyfriend, NFL tight end Travis Kelce, as a potential candidate for a wrestling stint in AEW, highlighting Kelce’s star power as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs, winners of the last two Super Bowls.

I’ll put Travis [Kelce] over and he can come [wrestle] in an AEW ring, and Karen will absolutely take a backdrop from Taylor if need be.

While the idea of Swift and Kelce participating in professional wrestling may seem far-fetched, Jarrett emphasised the attention and buzz it could generate for AEW, a relatively young promotion that continues to vie for audience engagement and growth.

Jeff Jarrett spoke about fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler and how despite his obvious flaws as a person, you can’t doubt his in-ring ability and he deserves his spot in anyone’s pro wrestling Mount Rushmore.
