Taylor Swift emotionally congratulates a couple after they engaged during her Eras Tour show in Edinburgh

Taylor Swift congratulated a newly-engaged couple in a touching moment during her live gig in Edinburgh, after kicking off the UK leg of her Eras tour on Friday.

Taking to the stage of the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, the pop icon, 34, said smiling: ‘I love performing this entire show in the sunlight because I’m pretty sure I just saw somebody getting engaged over here.’

The singer waited to hear a confirmation from the crowd, who screamed in a positive response, and Taylor was captured grinning happily from ear to ear and throwing her fists in the air as she was visibly emotional.

The Wildest Dreams hitmaker seemed over the moon to be witnessing the romantic scene, and said: ‘You have no idea. I never get to see that. Cause it’s like… dark usually at night.

‘But it’s not right now, so congratulations, wow.’

Taylor seemed astonished by the emotional gesture which happened right under her nose and continued: ‘I just saw the whole thing! Man, that’s amazing.

‘Thanks for doing that at my concert. That’s a big moment. Huge.’

Taylor well and truly gave fans a spectacle as she underwent twelve outfit changes during her sell-out show on Friday night.

The superstar showcased an array of sequinned ensembles at Murrayfield Stadium – some of which led fans to believe she is set to announce a re-recorded version of 2017’s Reputation.

She entertained the crowd in several looks for the three-hour long performance which included a matching white crop top and hotpants, a bejewelled bodysuit and a black and gold tasseled mini dress.

For one look, Taylor took to the stage in a white shimmering bralet that highlighted her toned midriff and paired it with matching hotpants.

The hitmaker also wore a matching white coat with a long tail and a silver lapel, adding to the look with a pearl necklace.

For another look, Taylor entertained the crowd in a bejewelled bodysuit complete with fishnet tights and her signature red lipstick.
