The Chicago Sky cemented what was a classic basketball game against the Indiana Fever on Sunday with a hard-earned win.

This marks the Sky’s second consecutive victory, which brings their record to 6-9 on the season. In fact, if the season ended today, the Sky would have secured the eighth and final playoff spot.

The Sky had lost four straight games prior to these two straight wins.

And after Sunday’s win, rookie sensation Angel Reese (who scored a career-high 25 points in the game) revealed that the locker room was experiencing some turmoil during that losing streak.

“That losing streak definitely spoke a lot for us,” Reese said postgame, per the Chicago State of Mind Sports YouTube channel.

“Hard times in the locker room, hard conversations in the locker room… But everybody looked in the mirror and figured out what we needed to do to get better.”

It sounds like the Sky had to do a lot of individual and collective soul-searching amid that losing streak.

But Sunday’s performance against the Fever proves that whatever was said and done behind closed doors clearly paid dividends.
