Seattle Storm rookie Nika Muhl was “ready to rock” for her first meeting against the two-time defending WNBA champions, Las Vegas Aces, on Friday. She sported a Hard Rock Cafe jacket paired with black boots and dark shades for her pre-game attire.

Since joining the team, Nika Muhl has consistently showcased her keen sense of style. Below are photos of the former UConn star’s get-up on the Storm’s X handle, with the caption:

Croatian Nika Muhl, selected 14th overall in this year’s draft, has seen limited time in the four games she has played for the Storm this season. However, it bears noting that her WNBA debut was delayed because of work visa issues.

The streaking Storm are staking their five-game winning streak as they currently play the Aces at the Michelob ULTRA Arena. The team (6-3) is coming off a dominant 80-62 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday, while the Aces (5-2) defeated the Dallas Wings 95-81 in their last game on Wednesday.

Nika Muhl shares frustration over delayed WNBA debut

Nika Muhl was forced to miss the first four games of the Seattle Storm this season over U.S. work visa issues, an episode she said left her a tad frustrated.

Being a native of Croatia, she needed to get a P-1 visa, which is needed by most international athletes to compete outside of their country of origin. Unfortunately, she was unable to secure hers in time for the start of the new WNBA season.

Speaking during her session with media on May 25, Muhl, who starred for UConn back in college, shared what went through her mind as she awaited for her work visa to be released. She said:

“Has there been instances where I felt like I wanted to go out there and help? Absolutely… I was just trying to — it was more of that eagerness of wanting to go out there and help my team in any way, shape, or form, even if I’m a rookie and I didn’t necessarily know how to help in that moment, if that make sense.”

Nika Muhl played her first WNBA game on May 23 against collegiate rival Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, which they won 85-83. Prior to the start of the game, she wore a “Visa-approved” shirt to mark her work visa being given the thumbs-up.

In the ongoing WNBA season, Muhl is averaging just three minutes per contest, which she hopes will go higher as the season progresses.
