KANSAS City Chiefs fans got a sneak peek at a familiar connection after the team shared a clip from their practice Tuesday evening.

The clip shared on the Chiefs’ official X account, formerly known as Twitter, shows Patrick Mahomes completing a touchdown pass to WR Rashee Rice.

Multiple fans rushed to comment on the video to show appreciation for the “pretty spiral” from Mahomes to Rice.

“Beautiful spiral [surprised face] @PatrickMahomes,” wrote one fan.

“We’re in the fast lane,” commented another.

“LOVE HIM YEAH BABY,” wrote a third fan.

“Pure fire,” commented a fourth fan.

Although many Chiefs fans are excited about a potential Mahomes to Rice connection this season they are going to have to wait a while to see it.

The NFL is likely to suspend Rice for multiple games after the wide receiver was involved in a hit-and-run incident in March.

NFL reporter James Palmer believes Rice could miss up to half the season.

“He’s gonna be suspended, let’s put it out there,” Palmer said.

“They’re expecting half the season at least.”

Meanwhile, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport still thinks there is hope Rice could play this season.

“As you guys laid out, the offense without Rashee Rice there, what we don’t know is whether or not he’ll be eligible to start the season with the Kansas City Chiefs,” Rapoport said.

“And really this depends on how quickly the legal process plays out. If his case is – and he’s been charged with, I believe six charges – if his case wraps up, then there is potential the NFL could issue its discipline and he would likely be suspended.

“Discipline would be handled the following season. So the timing is really an issue, not whether or not he’ll actually be suspended.”

Rice currently faces eight charges related to the hit-and-run incident that took place on March 30.

The Super Bowl champion’s charges include aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injury.

Rice’s offseason troubles continued as the star wide receiver was accused of assault at a Dallas nightclub in early May.

Last season Rice was the most productive receiver not named Kelce racking up 938 yards and seven touchdowns.

He continued his success during the Chiefs Super Bowl championship run setting an NFL rookie record with 26 postseason receptions.

If Rice is suspended the Chiefs will rely on a wide receiver room that includes newly signed Marquise Brown, Justin Watson, Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney, and Justyn Ross.
