Lil Wayne appeared on the Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast on June 27, 2024. During the appearance, the singer was asked about a possible reunion of Hot Boys, which group member Juvenile confirmed is in the works in May 2024. Hot Boys disbanded in 2001 after releasing three studio albums.

In response, the singer stated that he was not involved or aware of any reunion plans as suggested by Juvenile:

“That’s what he [said]?. “I ain’t been to the kitchen yet. I would not lie to you. I have not been in that kitchen yet. I have no problem with going to that kitchen… but I ain’t smell it, it ain’t come through the window yet. I ain’t smell the food…. They ain’t told me nothing yet.”

Lil Wayne previously responded to the idea of a Hot Boys reunion while appearing on YG’s 4Hunnid podcast on February 8, 2024, stating:

“We’ve spoken about it a few times but, you know, they have situations. Like B.G. just coming home so he gotta figure out. Can he tour? Can he travel? And things like that. Juvie ready and Turk ready, but really we gotta see if Geezy can move around…”

Lil Wayne continued:

“Everybody got their own thing. Everybody got their own record label, their own situation. Nobody ain’t tied down to nothing. So when we asked everybody, they were like, ‘Yeah, we can jump on whenever.’ We just gotta get Geezy right.”

More on Hot Boys career before disbandment

Hot Boys started out as a hip-hop group in 1997 with four members: Lil Wayne, BG, Turk, and Juvenile. The group was formed in New Orleans, Louisiana, and released their debut studio album, Get It How U Live!, on October 28, 1997, through Cash Money Records. The album peaked at number 22 on the Billboard R&B album chart.

The group released their second studio album, Guerrilla Warfare, on July 27, 1999. Critically and commercially acclaimed, the album secured the number 5 spot on the Billboard 200 album chart upon its release as well as a platinum certification.

In 2000, the group collaborated with Cash Money Millionaires on the soundtrack album Baller Blockin’. The album was relatively successful, charting at number 13 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

In 2001, Hot Boys was disbanded as BG, Turk, and Juvenile left Cash Money Records due to alleged financial mismanagement. Lil Wayne continued with the label and a final Hot Boys album, Let ‘Em Burn, was released on March 25, 2003.
