Taylor Swift has earned the nod of approval from several fellow musicians and celebrities over the course of her career—and Jon Bon Jovi’s opinion of her falls right in line with that trend.
During a recent appearance on the Just for Variety podcast, the “Livin’ on a Prayer” hitmaker was asked about Swift’s massive fanbase and ability to impact local international economies simply by performing in a city while on tour. That ability has been celebrated several times in recent months as she traveled internationally for her ongoing Eras Tour.
After acknowledging that there is “a lot of new, young talent that’s pretty darn good” out in the world, Bon Jovi told podcast host Marc Malkin that the “Cruel Summer” songstress specifically is “absolutely incredible.”

Embracing the styles that make Swift, 34, herself means that she is “not trying to be something that she’s not,” Bon Jovi said, which he added “has connected with an audience that is unique.”
The June 11 podcast episode wasn’t the first time that the “Anti-Hero” singer has come up in conversation during recent Bon Jovi interviews. Earlier this year, the “You Give Love a Bad Name” singer cracked a joke about Swift’s songwriting while speaking with a Television Critics Association panel to promote his new docuseries, Thank You, Goodnight. After recalling that he primarily had memories from high school to fall back on during his early songwriting days in the 1980s, he jokingly added, “And I didn’t break up with people like Taylor did,” a comment that drew some laughter from the audience
