Much of the 2024 WNBA season so far has been dominated by discussion about the rivalry between Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese.

Clark and Reese have been used as talking points for a much deeper cultural debate — when in reality they’re just two young stars competing against each other with a great deal of mutual respect.

Many are attempting to create an animosity between Clark and Reese that just isn’t there.

WNBA veteran Brittney Griner isn’t taking this route. Instead, the Phoenix Mercury center celebrated the arrival of both these talented rookies.

“I think it’s amazing,” Griner said when asked about the arrival of this year’s rookie class.

“I think it’s amazing for women’s sports, with these rookies — I think it’s amazing,” Griner said in her full response, via TMZ Sports.

More eyes are on the WNBA game than ever right now — in large part due to Clark and Reese’s arrivals.

The Fever and Sky will face off in another highly anticipated matchup on Sunday afternoon.
